2006  Christmas Greeting

Dear Friends and Family,

We are nearing the end of another year with the celebration of our Lord’s birth. We wish all of you a Joyous Christmas and a Blessed New Year. Hope all is well with you.

As we review our past year, it has been very eventful, some sadness, some joys and much gratefulness.

Just prior to last Christmas Uncle Ed, whom we affectionately called "Grand pap" fell and fractured his pelvis. For four months, Uncle Ed was either in the hospital or at a local nursing home. Unfortunately for us, he left us to join those who went before and Our Lord. He is missed by all. Aunt Huntz, "Grandma", is doing well, though she has slowed down quite a bit.

The end of April we went to Massachusetts for our Niece Kim’s wedding. It was a wonderful celebration and a busy weekend; Great to see family and close friends. Before we returned to Ohio we visited a friend in New Hampshire and enjoyed Maine lobster...

Summer moved too quickly. Several repair projects around the house and gardening. The vegetable garden was pitiful this year, never had as poor a garden as this year.

In the middle of August, our persistence paid off. Don had Deep Brain Stimulator surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. The day of surgery was very long, but he made it through it. Then two weeks later the battery packs were surgically implanted. On Sept. 11th (yes 9/11) the stimulator was turned on. It was a miracle; the tremors slowed down and almost disappeared. He has been doing really well. He goes to the Clinic every 4-6 weeks for increases in stimulation and soon will only be going about every 6 months.

Diane continues to work full time for the Cleveland Clinic with two dermatologists, their office is local. Don’t have to tackle the Cleveland traffic. She has been elected President of the local Thrivent for Lutherans Branch for the second year. The board sponsored with the help of Thrivent main office and Habitat for Humanity a home….we will be doing another home this next year...

Amie and Tom are doing well. Tom received a promotion. Amie’s business, For Paws, Canine Rehabilitation has kept her busy; both travel for work and a little for pleasure.

Don and Jen are active with their jobs, projects and some traveling.

If you wish to learn more about us and our family Don has produced a very interesting web page. www.lamoreauxfamily.net You are invited to visit and enjoy his work.

Merry Christmas, 2006
