FROG'S PAGEDIANE AND DONHOME  Slide Show of Keesler AFB in 1963

These pictures are all the pictures I took while at the Air Force Air Traffic Control School at Kessler AFB in Biloxi Mississippi. I was posted there  after basic training at Lackland AFB near San Antonio, Texas. Don't look for any pictures from Lackland as we didn't have enough time to take pictures. all we wanted to do was get out of there. Too much heat, sand and sergeants.

The first couple of pictures are meant to show what life was like on a Air Force training base. The first picture was taken of the entrance to the 3404th School Squadron where we lived. The next picture is of barracks #1213, which was my home for the 4 or 5 months we were there. There was probably a dozen or barracks like this for each school squadron. Every morning  after  breakfast we marched in a parade to school, I suspect the band was from the Air Force's band school.

The next group of pictures start off with a super picture of me posing next to the squadron sign . Notice the cool look with the cigarette.  The next fellow we see is Fred Worth.  Fred as you can guess was a little bit jerky but he was fun to be with. He along with Mac Dumler shown next were my closest friends while at Kessler and we stayed together until our discharge in 1966. The rest of the people in the pictures have become  nameless over the 40 years since I last saw them. If anyone sees this and recognizes someone let me know the name so I can match it with the picture. I   believe the fellow with the pipe was Gary McCulla  who after Keesler went to Aviano AFB North East of Venice Italy. The black fellow was Roberson, i can't remember his first name. He was the first black man I really got to know, He was a good man. I lost track of him after we left school. You can see by the way we were dressed it was not summer  As a matter of fact  one morning while taking the trash out to the dumpster I slipped on some ice while walking across the basket ball court.  I believe we were there from January till May so it it really hadn't warmed up until  April  The last 2 pictures were taken after graduation in May so the flowers wee all in bloom.   Hope you enjoyed the background music.
