BCBC Invades Rattlesnake Island

This is a continuation of the great Rattlesnake Island  invasion of 2006.B
By the way, the name Rattlesnake Island,  probably originated from the shape of the island which if you have a vivid imagination looks like a rattle snake. But there is also a persistent rumor that during probaition  the island was used by some unscrupulous rum runners, or or may be the mob to bring whiskey in from Canada. Since there are not too many safe landing points I can imagine that the island had guards stationed you would shake a rattle snakes rattle if a Federal Marshal got to close to the island.

Even today there are signs that expressly state you are not welcome on the island unless you have a invitation. There were several guest cottages besides the restaurant and pool bar where we were able to explore. I counted about 6 private homes. Notice they have a 4 hole golf course that is located on the airstrip. The sign reads look out for landing airceaft.
