This is The Cougar Page

Frog Pond

I know it s been a long time since I made this page and I promised I would put some pictures of my 1973 Cougar XR7 Convertible, well its only about 3 years now so that is not such a long time. The 2 pictures above you can see what a convertible can be used for especially if you do not have a pick up truck to haul things. in this case I bought a storm door at a local big box hardware store. So I took the door and placed it across the seats and with some tie down rope  made it solid.
In a couple of days I will be storing  the car in my garage for the winter until next next April, as I do not drive it in snow or rain if I can help it.. I take a sheet of plastic and cover it for the winter. After I get it covered I will take a few pictures of it for the page. To save a few bucks over the winter we remove the insurance from it and only cary what is called storage coverage.
The car only gets driven about 600 miles on average a year now, but it was my primary car after I was fired from the FAA in 1981.  I put over 50,000 miles on it while I drove it back and forth to Cleveland for 2 years, while  I was attending a technical school where I earned my associate degree in electronic engineering. It is now 2007 and it only has 110000 miles on it. The only rust that you can see is on the drivers side rocker panel. But you can not see that when you are behind the wheel.
