Florida at last! But wait the TV weather gal is talking about Frost warnings

Back to Durham                       Lipizzan Stallions                     Frog Pond              The Fosters

The first stop in Florida that we made was a visit to the Bill Gregory family. That is Dana Gregory with her 2 sons as the first picture of this show. The Gregory's  moved from Fort Lauderdale, the last time we saw them, to a beautiful home in Gainesville FL. We can see buy this lead picture that like Diane, Dana is soon to be the shortly in the family as her 2 boys are soon going to tower over her. Minnie did real good for her self as she was getting used to a different dog at nearly every place we stopped.

From Gainesville we moved on to Lake Placid. They had had frost a couple of weeks before we arrived and it killed many of the smaller ornamental plants that are usually planted around a home.

We stayed in Lake Placid with our friend of many years Bev Smith. The weather cleared and we had about 5 days of temperatures in the hi 70's, low 80's so we were able to go down to the pool and splash around a little.  I was too modest to show a full view of Bev as I promised  I would not take a picture of her while she was sun bathing. I will leave the rest of her to your imagination. I figure you all can guess what the rest of her looks like. You will see the full view late on in the slide show.
Allison Davis, Bev's older daughter married a local fellow. John Davis, he comes from an old Florida family in the Lake Placid area. He looks a little shell shocked in the picture but I promise you he does not look that weird normally. I think I may have caught him after a long day of crunching numbers at work. This is his busy time as he is an tax accountant. They have a beautiful home and 2 great looking kids. Jeff lives in Kansas City MO, so we were unable to see him and his family. We were lucky to see them the last time we came to Florida. I am sure Don would be very proud of how his children and their children have grown up. It is so easy in this world we live in to stray off of the right path and without a father around it can happen very easy. .
We did many things while we were staying with Bev. Our list included visiting a local winery, going to the Seminole Indian casino,  which is located about 30 miles from Lake Placid and visiting the winter training grounds for the beautiful Royal Lipizzan Stallions. We saw a free show that lasted about an hour and a half. It was a training session the Herrmann's family allow the public to observe and it was free.

I will be putting a slide show of the horses on tomorrow. Look for a link here to see these beautiful horses. I am going to stop now as I am getting tired an my 2 typing fingers are getting sore.

Now scroll to the top of the page and click on the button to see the beautiful Lipizzan Stallions.
